Prague
Prague is a thriving hotspot for stag groups from the UK, but behind the cheap beer lies a historic city which oozes style and elegance. The local buildings demonstrate creative flair, and the whole place a somewhat quaint and pleasant quality which is seldom found in modern times. In short, it represents an ideal choice for a weekend away.
The centre of Prague can be tackled on foot, but a number of companies have recently cropped up who are offering small group tours on Segways! For those that don’t know, a Segway is a two-wheeled, self-balancing electrically powered personal transportation device. They typically cover around 15-25 miles on a single charge, which is more than enough to take in the majority of Pragues attractions in one ‘standing’. This certainly makes things a little more fun, and never fails to draw attention of passers by!
Whatever your agenda, make sure you find time to take in the many courtyards and the Prague castle complex. For any fans of Terry Pratchetts Discworld reading this, you probably won’t be surprised to hear that this is where he drew much of his inspiration for the fictional city of Ankh-Morpork. Other top attractions include the famous Charles Bridge and the Dancing house, a stark contrast to one another, but both very Prague-esque.
Prague has only become a tourist hotspot in recent years, almost entirely thanks to cheap flights becoming available from many of the smaller airports across the UK. Originally the popularity grew from the cheap hotels and beer that were available, drawing in crowds of stag parties, but since then things have settled down and now people are coming to experience everything else it has to offer, such as the architecture, history, lifestyle and culture.
